Project: “The Way” Easter Film
Directing combines artistry with collaborative leadership, and it’s fun to say out loud. For this project, I was tasked with directing, producing, and overseeing all aspects of the short film. With a crew of 10 people, we delivered the first LifeFamily Church short film that went on to receive national recognition.

Project: “The Night Herons” Mini Documentary
Everything flows better with a solid production plan. The team’s first documentary project was a logistical beast, which required several months of planning. From mapping out the runners’ minute-by-minute race path to organizing shot lists and equipment groups, pre-production played a major role in this project’s success. This film was just selected to premiere at the Austin Film Festival!

Project: “Ghost Stories” Promotional Video
Brainstorming creative concepts is arguably my favorite part of the filmmaking process. For this project, I was asked to come up with a video concept for an October sermon series called “Ghost Stories” about the Holy Spirit. I landed on the idea of finding an old projector in my grandparent’s attic with vintage footage from the lives of people who came before me. This ties in the classic spookiness of October, the theme of storytelling, and the supernatural presence of the Holy Spirit.

Project: “Home Sweet Home” | Editfest 2023
Few things are more satisfying than using creative editing as a weapon against boring content. For the international FilmSupply Editfest, I created a fake title sequence depicting the rise and eventual downfall of the Branch Davidian cult in Waco, Texas. This piece, made of entirely unrelated stock footage clips, won 2nd place out of 1,200 submissions across the world.
